Master 2 Predictive and integrative animal biology (PRIAM) - Parcours de la mention Biologie intégrative et physiologie
PRIAM (Predictive and Integrative Animal Biology) is not a study path: it is A full second year of a Master’s degree (M2).
A typical study path would be BIP-Animal year 1 of the Master’s degree followed by the second year , PRIAM M2.
Students are trained in applied animal sciences through an integrative approach to biology that mainly encompasses genetics, physiology and behaviour.
The aim is to:
- become proficient in using bioinformatics and biostatistics tools related to the previous learning outcome.
- learn to model biological processes at various levels of spatio-temporal distribution.
- adopt the scientific methodology and actively prepare for further studies in a laboratory context.
- learn the issues surrounding animals (livestock, wild and domestic) and prepare for employment in the relevant sectors
Build an advanced disciplinary knowledge base in animal biology.
Employ integrative approaches in order to make optimal use of multidisciplinary inputs to animal sciences.
Conduct an experimental research project alone, in a small group or in a team, with rigour and creativity.
Apply fundamental research techniques to specific cases.
Be capable of bearing in mind ethical questions and societal demands in a research project that involves animals.
Be able to think critically when tackling a diversity of scientific information sources.
